Decks

Do you have a decks that are in dire need of some repairs or are you thinking about having a deck built so you can better enjoy the Lake Tahoe-Truckee summer and fall season?

There are so many varieties of decks that can be built that it's hard to know which might be the best for your enjoyment and that will give you the most years of service.

Planning for a new deck takes some consideration of the existing structure of your home along with the reason you're building a deck to begin with.

Will it be a place for the kids to play?  Will you mainly barbecue on it?  Is it more for sitting outside in the cool of the day with friends sipping your favorite beverage?

Will it be ground level or elevated?  What materials do you like most?  What materials are needed to insure the most durability and service?

Ground level decks, usually, will not require guard railings while above ground you will need railings designed and installed, according to the varying code requirements, for safety reasons.

You may want to select wood for the rustic look it provides or a combination of wood and a rock product so you have the Old Tahoe look.

Metals are also available to provide for longer clear spans.

There are many materials available for the construction and repair of decking and patios.

Careful selection of one or a combination of them can insure you'll have a lasting, eye pleasing and enjoyable deck.

Decks are a focal point of fun and entertaining in most homes.
